Bigger tires for F250

I've got a '04 F250 with FX4 package (SuperCab, Long Bed). Can't do a lift but want bigger tires...will 305/70R17s fit on my truck and keep full range-of-motion?

Re: Bigger tires for F250

For 17" tires, you won't want anything wider than a 285 with 70 series sidewall. Most tires shops can put on the 285 tires on the 7" wide rims, although last I checked 7.5" wide are recommended. I've heard reports that with the 17" size even a 295 (custom tire) rubs the frame at full lock. If you get some offset wheels you can run a larger size without rubbing the frame, but the DOT might get you for not having proper fender flares (check the aftermarket for these) and exposing the tire.
