anybody know how hard this is to replace? and where i could find instructions online? thanks fer any assistance you may be able to give.

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Drain and recycle the engine coolant.
Disconnect the coolant hoses at the heater core tubes.
Remove the glove compartment.
Position the Rear Anti-lock Brake System (RABS) module to the side.
From inside the passenger's compartment, remove the 7 screws that secure the heater core access cover to the plenum chamber.
Disconnect the vacuum source, but leave the vacuum harness connected to the cover and remove the cover.
Remove the heater core.
To install:
Installation is the reverse of removal. Replace any damaged sealer.

Nope you didn't piss me off, i was just giving the man his answer. Sorry it came across that way. But i dont know about pulling the dash off. I pulled that out of a work shop manual for a 1999 F150. So if its wrong thats my excuse.

well, 2 days, 36 beers later(sum beer was consumed by freinds)... the heater core is replaced!!! and yes it was a B*^#h!! and i could see where the leak was so i was happy to be sure i was replacing the right part!!...the isnstructions you gave where tha same ones i read in the chiltons...but when it comes down to it, it just took common sense. theres alot of extra lil bolts tho!!! LOL!! but now she aint heatin...I think the culprit is the thermostat, cause it can get get stuck open or shut...correct? so.....Im thinkin maybe the thermostat got stuck in the closed position, let the water get too hot, along with presure received from the water pump and blew the heater core....now its stuck open and wont heat....sound right to y'all??? by the way...i used a chiltons.......thats whay it took 2 days instead of 1......word of advice dont invest in a chiltons manual cause they suck!!

YEah if the the Tstat stays open she wont heat. I'd go ahead and replace it asap.

well, its replaced, but still no heat....both hoses to the core are almost scalding hot...but i only get luke warm air

Guess ill be taking the dash back out and seeing where i meesed up at...must have kinked a vac hose er sumthin..only thing i can think of


funny how she stopped heatin right when i work on it so im sure its a fault of my own and not the temp selector knob

update....
was able to check the vac hoses without completly takingthe dash out..... no kinks..... what in the world else could it be??? new Tstat ans core but no heat....had all the heat one man could stand before i took er apart.....guess ill be a busy guy tommorow.....will let ya know how it turns out

only thing i can think of is the blender door, or the blender door motor...what do yall think??
