does anybody know will a c6 tranny off a 351w bolt rite up to a 460?

Keep in mind what im telling you is just what i was told but i have never looked into it myself...but what i was told is that any tranny all the way from a straight 6 to a 460 will work but you may have to just put a different bell housing on the tranny...this is just what i was told so if im wrong well then it will be a good answer for me too because i was thinkin about puttin a different tranny behind my 429

Jerrysf,that may be true for manual transmissions but the C-6 is an automatic and the bell housing is integrated into the design.
There were three different bell housings.Here is a quote from Wikipedia(for what it's worth);
Ford C-6 Transmissions:
" Three case bell housing varieties exist for use with various Ford engines: Windsor and Cleveland small block V8, FE V8, and 385 V8; the small block case is relatively rare." -Brian
