Catalytic Converter

Some one told me today that if you take a converter off which i know you arent sap to do. if the cold air touches it it will stop it up then you wouldnt be able to put it back on. can anyone help me with this i need to know asap!!!

Good ?? I don't know but I'm gonna put my test pipe in place of the cat and if can't use it later I'll just take a pipe and knock out the center of kitty and have full flow.
