confused Diesel problem

Posted in another forum too (wrong one ) ? a friend of mine just bought a 1989 f250 diesel ran great for a week or two all of a sudden it started dumping fuel out of the filler neck of the rear tank ignition off or on no difference I have no clue any help? Runs like shi$, no power, dies, and dumping fuel. hope someone can help. Thanks

something is broken. pressurized fuel required to run the engine is being lost

your fuel selector switch that switch rear tank to front is not switching so the return fuel from the engine is returning to the rear tank and is running off the front tank,
