Question Door Ajar Light

If I open my left rear door, the instrument panel "Door Ajar" light stays lit after closing the door. The interior dome lights then cycles off and on for the duration of the day (quite annoying and I look like an idiot at night). I hear the relay clicking off/on from the headlight switch assembly. The "Door Ajar" idiot light only resets if the truck has sat over night. Any idea as to a resolution, the dealer has no idea. It is a '99 F-350 Superduty Lariat V10 4x4 Longbed Dually.

Re: Door Ajar Light

A quick fix is to spray wd40 into the door latch. But you will get this problem again later down the road.

Another fix is to take the door panel off and clean the latch, its dirt build up.

Spraying wd40 will fix quickly, but you will have dirt build up again and this same problem a little quicker by the wd40 method. Either one works.
