e4od acting up agian......

i drove the truck the whole week no problems exept i had to turn over drive off. today i got in the truck went for a drive and now it when i put it in drive i get up to about 5-10 mph and it start shifting back and forth from a higher gear back down to lower gear. like it will kick down and accelerate then it will bog down like its hitting the final gear and keep going back and forth. i had the tranny rebuilt 3000 miles ago and this is really frustrating.

fluid level is in the middle of the hashes warm. fluid is slightly discolored. to correct my statement above, it actually seems like the truck is skipping second gear like it starts in first tries to go straight to 3rd realizes its not right and drops back to first. i might get an audio clip in a little while so you guys can hear what im talking about.

it was rebuilt by a local tranny shop almost 14 years ago when gas was around 2usd a gallon. when gas prices started going up we parked it and mainly used it as a farm truck. even if it is still on warranty i dont think i could find the receipt to the shop. i just drove the truck around my farm an now i am leading to belive its my torque converter i was just screwing around and noticed if i manually put it in second my tc randomly lock and unlocks so maybe when im in drive an it tries to shift into second the tc is already locked?

Wont be covered by warranty after 14 yrs even though it's only done 3,000mls . Sure an ATF and filter change wouldnt go wrong .

im leaning towards something electrical. today i took it out drove about a mile it worked fine. started it up to go home and it acted like this again. i think it might be something that controls the torque converter.

The torque converter is basically a pump, there's valves that control where it's ported to. What year is the truck?

Re: e4od acting up agian......

You may have a bad solenoid in the tranny.
