I ran an errand, came back out of the store and when I turned the ignition, all electrical power cut off, lights everything. Then tried to jump start the battery and engine sounded like it was barely getting enough power to crank. Removed the battery had it tested and it is good. Tried to jump start direct to cables, without the battery connected and same sluggish result. When I re-installed the battery the truck cranked first time with no jump start. Cranked 7-8 times more just fine, got the truck home, shut it off, tried to start it again and the original problem happened again, no power. Repeated the jump start routine with the same results. Then I removed battery cables again and re attached them, truck cranked first time. Is there some electrical reset?

Ideas? Cables bad at some point? Starter solenoid was clicking loud when trying to crank, problem there?

Make sure all connections are clean and tight, (battery to solenoid to starter)and that you have a good battery. If this proves to be good, pull starter and bench test or have it tested

Thanks that targeted the problem. Cables tight and in good condition, battery to starter. Starter relay was sticking and has been replaced. Problem appears to be solved, so far.
