I have a 2003 F-150 SuperCrew, 80,000 miles, and after I started it this morning the engine shuddered a bit. I drove my kids to school and it continued to shudder at times when I came to a stop & was idling. I just got in the truck again to go to the store and the "service engine" light came on....and the shudder continues. Anyone have any ideas as to what this can be?

Should I add this problem to my husband's "honey-do" list, or would a trip to the local Ford dealer be best to handle this?

Any advice would be appreciated...thanks!!

Take it to Autozone and they will pull the codes for free. Then post back here what they are.

Went to Autozone.....code is PO301....cylinder misfire in number 1

The guy told me to replace all 8 spark plugs, so I guess we'll see if that works when my husband gets home.

It could also be the no.1 coil pack is going bad,I recently had error code PO304 and it was definitely coil pack no.4.
I changed it out and all the spark plugs after that ,and it now runs normally.
