f 150 300 automatic

i have 1995 f 150 with a 300 engene and auto transmisson. runs great sometimes, Engine light will come on sometimes and when it does it runs rough and the exhust is black took it to a ford dealer when the light was off computer said it was o k. runs well some of the time. you never know when it will happen. mec, said he would have to see it when light is on or it happened when he was driving it. it seems to hppen when it downshifts under a load or going up asteep hill. once it starts blowing black smoke it keeps doing it untill i pull the neg. cable. i put a different computer on it does the same thing could you guys help me plaese, mvhd
