F-250 brake controller

I purchased a 2005 F-250 6.0 and wanting to install a brake controller. It has the factory tow package but I'm unable to find the connector for the brake controller. I found 4 wires behind the fuse box in the cab that have been cut. They are red, white, blue, black however I can't get any voltage on the wires with the ignition on and pressing or not pressing the brake pedal. Any help. I've checked the fuses dealing with the tow EBC but still no voltage. Thanks.

That's the color the wires should be. Follow the wires up and see if they go to a plug. If they do, that's the plug Ford supplies with the tow package. Check fuse #20, 28, 38, 101, 107 under the dash and fuse#9 under the hood.

Re: F-250 brake controller

All those fuses check fine. While checking fuse#9 I found what I believe to be the other end of the cut wires. They are attached to a wiring harness above the fuse box in the engine compartment cut off thus the reason for no voltage. Where should the ends of the EBC wiring go to ? I really dont want to manually wire the brake controller unless I have to. Thanks.

Re: F-250 brake controller

The conector is plugged into the back of the little cubby hole just above your right knee/under the radio. I found the best access if you just flip your ashtray down. there is two there, if I remember right it is the one on the right but you will be able to tell by the color of wires. Those wires under your hood are not them even though they look right. Go to any auto store and they can get you the plug that will plug right into the ford plug in.
