Read F-350 won't start

So I have a 2004 f-350 5.4L V-8 gas engine w/65,000 miles on it in my truck, about every 2 - 3 weeks it just does not start. It turns over just fine but acts as if it's not getting fuel or spark I'm guessing. Yes there is plenty of gas in it! :-) I have recently had the entire fuel system serviced with new filter and new gas cap. After that it went about a month and a half without an issue. It's been happening for 5 months or so now....there is absolutely no logic to it that I can tell (weather, engine hot, engine cold), it does not discriminate. The crazy thing is if I come back to it 2 hours later it starts right up. Basically it won't stay broken long enough to take it to the shop.

Thoughts?

Any help would be appreciated....thanks!

Re: F-350 won't start

When you have a no start condition is when you need to check it. Spark is easy enough to check and will eleminate or confirm one possibility. Narrow it down to fuel or spark problem and we can guide you further.

Re: F-350 won't start

thanks for the feedback...i'm really not good with engines....i would really know where to start to test either of those problems. I was hoping there might be some known issues with this model year so that I could have the shop replace these items....or fix.
