I purchased a 1992 F-350 2wd dually w/460 and E4OD (4 sp. auto) a little over a year ago. The odometer read approx. 128k mi. I have put about 8k mi on the truck. This AM, the odometer jumped over 87k mi!!!! I called three local ford dealers, the Calif motor vehicle board, and the NHSTB. I could find no record of this happening before. Not a big deal, really, since the truck is really solid and I plan on keeping it -- but this was a big suprise. A breif internet search showed that there are devices that can program odometers, but this is not my intent. I also found this site. I'd just like to know if this has happened to someone else besides me. Anyone else heard of this before??

My 92, F150 did the same thing, it jumped up 30,000 in one day, I was not a happy camper, It switched from miles to kilos. My Ford Service Dept. tried to switch it back to miles by toggleing the odom buttons a certain way, but nothing changed. It went back to miles about a week later by itself.
Sounds like yours went from kilos to miles.
I never did like those LCD odoms I wish mine had a manuel odom.

Thanks, TJF. you're right!. Turns out 1mile = 1.61km so a vehicle with 141k miles reads about 227,000 km (but the odometer doesn't SAY km). Let me guess....1992 is the first year Ford F-series went digital, right?? The local Ford shop doesn't know how to fix this, but I haven't given up just yet...
