What are the differences between F100's and F150's??
I can't see anything different, even between the 4X4 ones.
Anyone else know??

the f-150's did too. automotive.com says that the differences between 1980 model f-150 and f-100 were that the f100 came with 2 motor choices, the 302 and 300. transmissions available were 3-speed auto. and manual, and a 4-speed manual. and the f100's only came with 2wd. the f100 only had a regular cab
now the 1980 f150's had 4 motor options, 302v8, 351v8, 300 I-6, and the 6.6v8. they say it came with the same 3 transmission choices as well. available in 4x4 and 2wd. there were extended cabs available too.
Excellent research Torcher! I do know that in 1980 they redid just about everything on their trucks, i had a 79 and it was the last year for alot af things including the best bodystyle!
Yeah, 1980 was the first of the crap trucks. I was more interested in the 1979 and previous trucks. I have seen F100 4x4 and F150 4x4 as well.

The chassis were not as rugged, and the front end was typical Americans trying to think outside the square, and doing a worse job than if they had stuck to the old technology. (Twin Traction Beam front end)

I like the twin [I Beam]front end, try going into a corner hard with a truck with twin I beam -big improvement
It certainly worked for Ford with more than a 11% share of the light truck market over Chevvy in the first year of production
