mad F150 #3 Spark plug pulled the threads out of the cylinder

Last week my 2002 F 150s #3 spark plug pulled the threads out of the cylinder head. Now I don't claim to know alot about engines (practically nothing actually) but in the research I have done this far I have found out that this is an ongoing problem with Ford especially with the #3 spark plug. Since this very costly to fix I wanted to see if anyone else has had this happen and if they replaced the cylinder or just had it rethreaded. I plan on called Ford customer service next so any imput would be great.

It's not that big a deal to repair if you're mechanically inclined. Pull the head and take it to a machine shop to have a heli-coil installed.

Spark plug threads should be lightly doped with a high-temp nickle based anti-seize before installing.... especially with aluminum heads.
