Lightbulb f250 diesel climate control stuck on defrost

I have f250 diesel 4x4 2003 My climate control is stuck on defrost, my question is, where is the vacume pump located? And what other funtions does this vacume pump assist? Is it only used for the climate control?

one of my freinds trucks did the samething. it turned out to be the sitch was bad

Mine did the same thing today. Went through the vacuum leak and switch thing and it was the Electric Vacuum Pump. Just quit working. $110 bucks, two bolts and 10 minutes and everything was cool. Located right behind the battery on passenger side of 2005 F 250 Diesel. FYI for anyone cares.
