f250 question

I have a 03 f250 with a gas v8. The problem is there seems to be no performance mods for the truck at all. I bought it with a 6 inch skyjacker lift and rancho shocks. Its got mickey thompson rims and bfgoodridge 32 inch allterrian tires. But now im thinking if there isnt going to be any power mods I may try to do an engine swap. I want to put a 7.3 L or 6.0 L powerstroke diseal engine in it. Is it possible? I understand the cost of the engine. I can do the money if its possible. I just want to put a diseal and no I will not sell my truck and buy another one. Please help me...

thank you

Re: f250 question

If you have the money to swap a diesel, then you can afford a supercharger for your 5.4L. There are a number of S/Cs available. How about a remote mounted turbo?

If that's more than you want to spend, I've heard a few good things about JLTs intake and tuner combination.

I don't know what's available for your transmission but I've always been a fan of a good shift kit and modified torque converter. Usually this makes a world of difference.

What gear ratio do you have?

Re: f250 question

Where can I find a supercharger? I checked stillen and I couldnt find a thing. I looked around but came up with nothing for the 5.4l. If I can find a supercharger and cold intake system along with a chip ill be set. Where can I get a chip by the way? I like my truck but I just need more power.

Re: f250 question

In five minutes of searching all I could find was a supercharger by Procharger. You could get a universal turbo kit by STS turbo. Any forced induction is going to completely change your intake, and when your compressing air a cold intake is almost pointless. I would go with a programmer instead of a chip so you have the capability to modify and make changes. Search, call, find out which ones work well with boost and larger injectors. Google is your friend.

Re: f250 question

ive decided to go with the sts turbo system. Although I did some research and found that some guys are putting snorkels on if they are going in water with the turbo. Will I have a problem if i go in the mud with the turbo if I dont use a snorkel?
