Ford F-150/250

Hopefully I've figured out how to post in the right place. I'm going to buy a newer pickup, (probably '06 or newer 4X4 4 door F-150/250), and have always been impressed with my previous F-150s. This one is gonna be a long term keeper, so I want to get the right one. Does anybody have opinions regarding the 4.6/5.4 SOHC 16V vs 24V? If it is an F-250, what's the better engine. Haven't heard good things about the V10, and I'm skeptical of the powerstrokes. If anyone has any opinions/warnings/advice, i'd appreciate it.

Re: Ford F-150/250

We've been driving the E and F series for over a decade, had a few problems with the modules, but mechanically, they've held up pretty well. Going for an 06 should get you a truck without too many miles that's had the bugs worked out of the modules if it had any. I don't remember any issues from that era, most of the module problems ave been on the newer models.

All of the engines are good for a lot of miles but I'd stay away from the Power Stroke in that era.
