Front coil Springs and shock absorbers

I just noticed that my both front coil springs at the bottom 2nd coil is broken.
Looking for a replacement. Part number is 5310. Checked some online parts suppliers and there a several types of coil springs. Can someone recommend me a replacement that will give me the same ride quality that came with the car. Is ride quality comprimised if I go with heavy duty?
Should I also change the shocks with the coils? Any recommendations appreciated. Shock absorbers calling for part number 18124 ASH172.

Re: Front coil Springs and shock absorbers

I'd stick with the standard springs for the same ride quality. Check out RockAuto Parts Catalog and have a look at the (MOOG Part # 81118 - $97.79) or the (RAYBESTOS Part # 5851384 - $131.89) Don't forget the 5% off code RockAuto Discount Code - Valid through 12/17/2010

I would go ahead and replace the shocks while your at it. http://www.shockwarehouse.com/ I've heard people say stay away from Gabriel and Monroe.

Re: Front coil Springs and shock absorbers

Thanks jwko!

According to the Ford dealer I have the regular ones. If I only replace the broken springs, do I need anything else that need to be replaced other than the shock absorbers? I found the original Ford springs from Part.com for $52.88 each.
