confused Front Wheel Bearing

My 2001 F350 Left Front Wheel Almost Fell Off. The Extended Warrenty Will Only Pay For Part Of The Damage They Said I Abused The Problem. Didnt Have It Serviced Regulary The Book Says 60000 Miles I Only Have 56000 They I Drove It To Long Knowing It Had A Problem I Had An Appointment To Have The Fuel Mileage Checked I Am Only Getting 10mpg I Was On My Way To The Dealer When This Happened. I Am Wondering If This Is A Problem With Ford Or All Diesels. And Is My Extended Warrenty Just Trying To Screw Me Or What? They Will Only Pay For Part Of The Repairs.

Re: Front Wheel Bearing

The wheel bearings are a common failure on the 4x4's... very price to replace too.
As for the not having it serviced regularly, that's BS, the unit bearings are of a non-serviceable design(assuming your truck is indeed a 4x4). I suggest you find another dealer to deal with.

Re: Front Wheel Bearing

I would have to agree that this is BS...if you had to service your bearings before 50K you deffinitely had other problems other than the bearings. Find another dealer, take it to a none dealer mechanic for a second opinion and threaten to get a lawyer involved...
