I have a 94' F150 5.2 2wd, and I have to replace the oil pan gasket. Can I do this without removing the motor?
Also could the oil that is leaking cause a problem that brings my O2 sensor code in. When driving at a constant speed(cruise set) truck slows to aprox. 45 mph then returns to set speed, when the truck slows the check engine light comes in but clears when truck returns to set speed. Could the oil on this connector be causing this problem?
In order to replace the oil pan gasket, the engine needs to be lifted, but not removed. Remove the fan shroud, the exhaust, motor mount bolts, and raise the engine high enough to remove the pan.
Get a scan and post the CEL codes here. I doubt it's oil.
Had found time last weekend to change the oil pan gasket. Worked fine with your info Johnny, also unplugged the O2 sensor the connector was oil soaked. Ran a conductivity test on the oil and it appears that it will carry a charge. Simply cleaned the connector, and runs great without getting the check engine light
