Headlight issue - not working

I have a 1987 ford f-150 4wd 300 six step side. Headlights or tail lights don't work. I've changed headlight switch and fender solenoid. Side markers work, interior light works, but no headlights. I see mention of a power control box, but I don't think this truck has one. Just the fuse box under the steering wheel on the firewall. Lights use to work, would go on/off when I hit a bump. Then one bump too many and no more head lights.

Any ideas?

Does the fuse power the entire switch or each part of the switch have a fuse link? When I hit the dimmer switch, I see the dash high beam indicator come on, so at least it is signaling high beams. Does that mean there is power to the dimmer switch? Also turn signal indicators on the dash stay solid when turned on, like when a bulb is out. My test meter chroked and I haven't tested to see if I have power on the wire to the switch. One more thing, the switch gets hot when the lights are one. Seems too hot to me.

When I purchased the truck there was a new light switch in the truck on the seat. I tried it and did not help. So I bought another. No change. Likely I have 3 good light switches and something else wrong. The floor dimmer is new also. I've got to trace done the fusible link. Something I haven't found where it is yet.
