When you move the knob to another vent position do you hear a hiss from the vacuum noise? If not then I'd make sure all the vac lines are attached properly. There shouldn't be any vac lines around the wheel hubs that would affect this. If you do hear a quick hissing noise when you move the knob, then your blend door might be stuck and is probably just a coincidence that this happened right after you got the vehicle back from having work performed on it.
