Hi there just got a 2008 F250 FX4, needed some recommendations on some HID lights.I heard that replacing just the OEM bulb will burn the wires on the truck,and some light kits are not that bright.Any information anybody has will be really hepfuf..Thank you.

It's not only light output and potential fires, but if the local state laws allow the use of aftermarket HID lights. They might, but the fine print must specify what range you can run. Most of the blued lights are illegal.

In terms of lights, 35/55W is still 35/55watts. If you run bulbs that suck more juice than the current halogens, then yes, the risk of fire is present. If you match up the wattage accordingly you won't have a problem.
