Idle Speed

Those of you 460ci owners, what is your normal idle speed? I think mines is a bit too fast, at around 1,000 RPM. I think my truck is running too rich, because below that speed, it can't run well.

Re: Idle Speed

Also, is there any way I can adjust the fuel mixture on this vehicle? I am a bit clueless with all the electronics this truck has.

Re: Idle Speed

" I think mine is a bit too fast at around 1000 RPM ". Did you measure it ? Normal curb
idle is about 700-800 in neutral. In gear about 600-650, maybe. Check your manual.
And no. You cannot adjust the fuel mixture on your vehicle. Well you can but it is not in the scope of the average home DIYer unless you have the flash programer and the soft ware for your truck. About $4000.00. You might get a deal on a used one. How do you know it's running rich ? Did you have a 4 gas analyzer put on it ? Sounds like you have a vacuum leak. Good luck

Re: Idle Speed

My truck has a tach, so I know that it idles at that speed. Any lower and it runs really rough. And would you know where the vacuum leak would be at? Thanks.
