information display module

The information display module on the upper console in my F250 recently went out. The two selection buttons still light up when the lights are on, but the gas mileage, outside temp, etc. does not show anymore. I checked all the fuses, but could find none blown. Does this mean that the module has gone out, or is there something else that I can check before buying a module?
