I have a 92 f150 and I'm about to change the inner and outer tie rods. My question is, will it be ok to replace them without lifting the truck on jack stands?
Always safer when working on suspension / steering with wheel off , especially if hammering ends to release , to use stands . If not available and no blocks or similar for use , sling wheel under body or suspension so it wont drop fully down on deck ( or you ) if it slips off jack .Better safe than sorry .
