looking for opinions
Hello,
New to the forum, glad to be here. I am looking for some input from Ford folks out there. I have a 1990 F250 351W FI that's pretty tired with 250K on the clock. This old grey mare just aint what she used to be. My question has to do with upgrading. Other than the tired motor (this thing was never exciting in the HP department to begin with) it's a good truck, and I want to keep it. I have about 5K to spend on her and I'm wondering what some others might do in this situation. I have no interest in a diesel, so my options are either modify it and put in a 460 or go with a high performance 351. If course 460 means tranny, some frame crossmember work and other stuff, whereas a mildly built 351 wouldn't require much if anything at all in the way of modifications. I've seen 250 - 300 HP 351's in the neighborhood of 3 - 4 grand, and I'm tempted to drop one of them in. What would you do, built 351 or 460?
