Loss Of power

I have a 2006 F350 Power Stroke 6 Litre turbo diesel. When I have my camper on it and going up a hill ......if I keep the gas to the floor.....the key indicator will come on and there is a sudden loos of power.......like the turbo cut out......it still runs but no power.
I pull over, shut off the engine for a few seconds and everything is back to normal....any ideas as to my problem?

Re: Loss Of power

Sounds like the motor is going into derate. If the PCM sees something it doesn't like will derate power so you do not damage anything. Try and get codes and post back. This is usually caused by the oil and coolant temp being to far apart caused by a plugged oil cooler.
