I Have a 93 Ford f250, 2wd 5.0 V8

When i drive my truck it squeals really loud and annoying. it mostly happens from when i first turned it on and continues for the next 10-20 mins. After a while it only squeals when i accelerate.

It is not the tires or brakes, it is coming from the center of the truck somewhere around the engine.

I replaced the serpentine belt about a month ago. should i lube the pulleys? or could something be on its last leg? if any of you can help it will be greatly appreciated

Will it do it without driving it? If so, take the belt off and see if it goes away. Don't run it very long like that. Check all the pulleys to see if a bearing is going out. Did the noise change after the belt was replaced?

yes it does it while idling. i haven't tried removing the belt yet but next time i get the chance i will, Thanks

Thanks, i took the belt off and it helped narrow down where it was coming from. the smog pump was squealing, i did some research and it isn't needed at all, it actually helps by giving you more horse power but without it you'll fail the emissions test at inspection.
the squeal stopped and the truck purrs like a baby. Ive never been happier than to get rid of the Freaking squeal. Thanks a ton for your help you saved me a ton of money from having to go to a mechanic
