Need advice please

Ok so my f-150 has no damage to the body but the paint looks like crap.
So I want to spray it flat black . Can I just scuff old paint dull and spray
Or do I need to take it all the way down? Thanks also which grit paper would you advise for the orbital sander?

Re: Need advice please

Generally when they take it all down, it's to clean up old repairs and check seams. If you may have Bondo underneath, it might be worth going to metal. I've seen people use 200 and 400.

Ever notice that there's so many high performance parts available for GM products?

Did you ever think that maybe they NEED them?

If you're using 2 part epoxy and you've throughly cleaned the old paint, it should stick. You'll probably still want to primer it to help avoid bleed through.
