New To Diesel

Hello, new member here.

I've been driving a really nicely customized Chevy Blazer K5 86' v8 5.7L 350i, my currently employment allows me to subject myself to a new treat, a new truck!

So far, the Ford F250 SuperDuty V10 6.7L truck is something i've been looking at.

I can get a 2000 model for $12K, it has 130K miles on it, but looks like a 2004 model, that's how clean the truck looks!

Should I worry that it has 130K miles on it? I know with regular octane engines like the V8, after 140K miles on it, an engine rebuild is in the horizon, i hear the domestic V10 diesel can outlast it by 3x as much.

Here are some pictures of the truck I'm looking at http://www.3dbawx.net/F250

Re: New To Diesel

A diesel will most of the time last a lot longer than a similar gas engine.
If you like the truck go for it, most likely you wont have a problem.

Where are you getting the truck from though (a dealer or private) if it is a dealer car you might be able to get a warranty to be sure.

But in general if well maintained diesel engines will last a lot longer than gasoline.
