oil filter adapter on v-10

i have a 2000 f-350with a v-10 triton, someone in times past has gotten real mean with a screwdriver or chisel on the oil filter adapter that the sealing surface is beat up. im pretty sure itll have to come from ford,anyone know about what the cost will be? and are they hard to change out? thanx

I've never had to replace one but it seems like you mighr have to raise the engine to get it out from the front. Not sure without looking at one, but when I worked on them, I know they are pretty confined and bolt in front to feed the engine and in the rear to support it. You might try a wrecking yard an maybe get a better price. Try this site to see if you can find one close by. Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market
