Has anyone had to replace the oil pan gasket on their F150 with the 5.4L ? I had a hard time finding where the leak was coming from so I brought it to the stealership and had them put die in the oil. Drove it for a week, brought it back, and it was determined the leak is coming from the oil pan gasket. Of course they will be happy to replace the gasket for me at the tiny fee of $440, including an oil change !!! I don't think so.
How difficult can it be???

I haven't seen it done on anything that new, but on older trucks, I've see where they've unbolted the motor mounts and raised the engine enough to ge the pan to partially clear the cross member enough to slip a gasket in there. Bear in mind that of the mating surfaces require serious cleaning, this method is a real pain.
