P1335 Error on 07 F250 Deisel

Hello all! I am a new member to the forum. The Service Engine Soon light came on the other day on my 07 F250 deisel. I had Advance Auto put a probe on it and it came up with P1335 which according to them meant there was either a engine misfire or something to do with the ignition. Could water in deisel cause this or just a tank of cheap fuel in general? The truck is running fine but don't want to play around with a potential problem either. All tips greatly appreciated.

Re: P1335 Error on 07 F250 Deisel

i don't know why thats not working. anyway it says it is a common problem in the diesels. It is a egr valve not functioning properly. They say that it is possible to clean. If the valve is not opening all the way it is not fuctioning properly. I don't know much about cleaning it, maybe just replace it. It sounds as if it is a common problem with the ford diesels.

Thank you again for your help! This is my first diesel and just learning. Is this a part that I can replace myself or should I take it to the dealer? Also, do you know if it will reset the engine light automatically when replaced?

I don't know were the egr valve is on you truck, but usually it can be replaced fairly easy. You usually need to clear the code. If you don't have access to a code reader you can usually unhook the battery for about 15 minutes and that will clear it.

Re: P1335 Error on 07 F250 Deisel

all you have to do is replace dont clean doesnt really work the egr valve is right behind the intake throttle elbow and the p1335 just means that the egr valve is not open and closing like its supposed to do
