Power Window and Lock Kit

All,

I own a 2003 F-150 with the standard cab, 4.2L V6, 5 speed manual transmission, crank widows, manual doorlocks, vinyl floors, and cloth seats...VERY BASIC.

I want to convert the manual widows and locks to POWER WINDOWS AND POWER LOCKS. With the locks, I would prefer remote keyless entry.

Are the wires already in the door (I have not yet looked inside the door panel)?

Can anybody recommend a good aftermarket kit? Or should I go out and purchase the Ford parts?

Thanks,
Neal

You can get an aftermarket window kit but with the experience we've had with them, they're not very good. If you're careful with them, they might be alright. Ours were on fleet vehicles so the drivers weren't careful with them. The power locks have been pretty good depending on who makes them. The locks and remote entry were purchaced from Micro Alarm. They have been VERY good. They also sell power window kits and we have no experience with there's. The ones on our vehicles were installed outside. Here's the company web site that we used. There could be others but we don't know about them due to the great service with Micro. You may have to deal with one of there suppliers. I have one of their remote lock systems on my car for 7 years and never a problem. It's the DLR4 system that we've used. openintromenu
