Hello anyone reading this. I need major help before i drive my truck off a cliff. For the past few months my truck has started to not want to start at all sometimes for up to 30 minets. Also, it will die without warning or sputtering while driving it. Foot on gas and everything just die. I have changed the fule filter a few times nothing. Just changed the ecm and still doing it worse. It started about 6 to 9 months ago and has gradually gotten worse. I cant keep driving my truck the way it is. Please someone help. My truck is a 1995 f150 eddie bouer edition, short bed, rear wheel drive, automatice transmision, and a 5.0 engine. Please someone help me.

is there anyway to figure out if thats it. I work a dead end job so i dont have alot of money to spare.

Might be worth checking wiring to sensor also . May show up a code if you got it scanned . Other than that , could check with a meter but I'm afraid I cant tell what readings you should get . We normally replaced them if in doubt or it was checked out by our auto electrician first .

You really should get it scanned and see what the diagnostics are, other wise your playing blindfolded darts.

However, I think the coolant sensor is a thermistor, which reads high when shorted and the ECU may think your overheating. I assume you're getting a check engine light?

Also, Advance Auto used loan ODB 2 readers, you gave them your license and they let you check your diagnostics in the parking lot. If you have one near you, give them a call, they may still. AutoZone ay as well.

I have tryed to get my truck checked a few times. I had a security model go out and, i had to try to get it checked advanced couldnt check it because the hookup is under the dash. So, if i get it checked i have to take it to a shop. Ford for some reason doesnt have the scanner to check it. I just need to buy a new vehical.

Also my truck has the obd1 not the obd2 thats why ford couldnt check it.

Ok so i checked that website. It doesnt look to complicated but it does look compicated enough i shouldnt try it but thanks for the help. Im going to change the coolant tempature sensor, if that doesnt work then i will try to change the fule pump if not that im driving the truck off a cliff.
