Question?

i have a 1982 f150, and the starter is verry lose and doesnt make contact with the fly wheel at all, reason is because the top part of the trany (where the starter goes) is broken, so the bolt is like lose, now my question is can i use jb weld to fix this? by "welding a LONGER bolt, with out a head to the trany and just use a washer and nut to hold it in place? ,i hope i explain myself correctly, and sorry if this isnt the place for questions like this still new to the whole forum thing , thanx -ricky

Re: Question?

It may hold for awhile. Since the trans is aluminum, it's going to be hard to weld to it.

Re: Question?

yeah i kind of thought so but its not in my budget to remove the motor or drop the trany to truly weld it, so i'm just going to give it a try
