Got a question about an AODE transmission. Specifcally interested in a wiring diagram for the electronics that control the transmission, and the logic of the shift coils.

I have lots of experience with GM transmissions, but have never dealt with this unit. I'm exploring the possibility of using a stand-alone GM 4L80E transmission controller with an AODE. It looks like the 2 transmissions have compatable electrical parts.

-What are the combinations of shift coils needed to effect each gear?
-What kind of current does the EPC coil need for minimum line pressure?
-Does the internal transmission speed sensor read OUTPUT speed, or INPUT speed? How many teeth are on its reluctor wheel?
-What kind of signal does the range sensor produce?
-What does the transmission do if the computer commands a higher gear than the manual lever position? In other words if the shift coils are commanding 4th gear but the shift handle is placed in 1,2, or 3?
-Is there an AODE with a speedometer cable connection, or can it be easily modified using AOD parts?


If there is a good writeup on this transmission including systems operation and diagnostics, it would greatly help!
