My dad swapped decks because the old one died. Now the new one comes on, but with no sound. I don't know if there is a factory amp but think that may have something to do with it. Where would it be and how we access it?

you dont have a factory amp in the truck. i would check for a shorted speaker wire by checking for continuity between the each set of the speaker wires behind the deck. its a aftermarket decks first warning that there is a short by killing all the sound. depending on what kind of deck it is, if its a cheap one you probably killed the deck already.
