confused Question relating to rear-end noise.

New menber - 1st time - newbee!
I have a 1997 F150 4X4 -Automatic: I am experiencing a rumbling noise from the rear-end when I'm stopping. I last used the 4 wheel drive (High) about 4 or 5 days ago and now I having this problem. Could it be that the drive isn't engaging? If so how can I correct this problem? Hope someone can help!

Re: Question relating to rear-end noise.

It sound's to me like the 4x4 didn't disengage. This is an all to common problem.
Do you have the shift on the fly?
