Questions about 05 5.4 3 valve f150
Hello, I just purchased a clean well looked after 05 super crew it has about 115,000 miles on it but the engine was replaced with a lower mileage salvage unit about 20,000 miles ago. I know all about the spark plug problems but I will deal with it when the time comes...but I have heard about this cam phaser problem and I assume that is what happened to the original engine. Can somebody explain what the problem is and how it is repaired? Is there anything you can do to prevent the problem other than regular oil changes? Any upgrade kits etc? Thank you!
