confused Radio Dimmer needs IDS Code

I drive a 2012 F250 XL, came from the dealership with standard AM/FM Radio (BC3T-18K810-BA).
Bought a "drop in" OEM CD player (BC2T-18C869-CB). I have no dimmer control or advanced functions (speed volume control) with the new radio.
Took to local Ford Dealership and they stated that the BCM was not talking to the new radio because it is not programmed for that radio. Tech. did not know the proper codes to program the BCM for the new radio.
Can anyone please tell me three things:
1. What does the replacement radio come out of?
2. What is the proper code to put into the ids so that the BCM can talk with this head unit?
3. Do I need a separate speed sensor for the advanced functions to work.
I have access to the ids to do the work myself but no access to H BOM to determine what the replacement unit comes out of so that I can determine what codes I need.

Any help that I could get would be great.

Re: Radio Dimmer needs IDS Code

When I say I have no dimmer control, let me explain.
When I start the truck, the clock will go to full bright as if in daytime operation. As soon as the BCM realizes that this is not the stock installed radio, it will dim to low light as in night operation, and can not be adjusted to any brighter settings. While in sunlight, the clock nor the station can be seen,
