The pointer stopped moving with the shifter. It always points to park. Does anyone know what (and how) I need to take apart to fix this?

I'm sorry, I thought I put that info in when I registered. Anyhow, its a 2001 F150 4X4 5.4L. I want fix this, but I don't want to break anything either.
