just picked up a 86 f150 4x4 with the 4.9L and a 4 speed with granny low and 33x12.50 tires.

few questions, cause i've never had a a carbed 4.9L, only an EFI.

the mechanical fuel pump is bypassed highly unsafetly, but i can hear an electric fuel pump running under the truck. did these trucks come with both an electric fuel pump, and a mechanical at the same time?

i also need a smog pump for it, because it is missing it, and my state require emmision equipment, for 1 more year, until its 25 years old. will a smog pump from a 5.0L or 5.8L fit?

The smog pump from an 85 or 86 4.9l will work. They only had a manual pump. You can search for used parts here: Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market I'd get a new fuel pump and make it safe if you're planning on keeping it.
