Starting issues

I have a 96 f250 diesel with a recently rebuilt tranny and a brand new starter. I have recently been encountering the truck not wanting to start. It acts as if the starter is not engaging. The is power to everything when the key is turned. Any ideas?

Re: Starting issues

Have you tried in neutral or holding the key to start and moving the shift letter?

No I didn't think you can start an automatic that isn't in park.

Re: Starting issues

Possibly the range selector. Try moving the shifter to either extreme of it's park position. I've had a couple of vans do the same thing.
