frown starting problem

I have a 1990 F250, 8 cyl 302. The starter turns the engine over with no problem on cold start. The problem seems to be once the engine is warmed up and you shut it off. when I restart there seems to be a heavy draw and the engine turns over slowly and sometimes will not start without a boost.
The alternator and starter have been replaced and battery appears fine.
The ground cables and starter cable are as old as the truck. Could they cause this kind of problem?or maybe something else?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: starting problem

I have a friend who had a simmilar problem and it was the battery. When it would heat up for some reason it would not put out the cranking amps needed. I would have it tested. Les Schwabs has a machine that they can hook it up to that will check all the cells. Just a thought.

Oh and if you take the battery out to test it I don't think they charge you.
