Well...my wife got in an accident last night....She beat up the parked car pretty bad with my front end of my 2003 f150 crew cab. I received little damage....She smashed the car .3 miles from my house....MY problem is that the steering wheel will not turn the wheels anymore? SO when all is said and done...I had to pay $50 to get my truck towed .3 miles.

IS this a safety feature? IS this something I can fix easily? Anyone got any ideas.

Absolutely a safety issue. This is not meant to sound smart ---, but if you have to ask if steering is safety related, I think you should have a pro look at the steering mechanical parts from the steering wheel to the tie rod ends, and everything in between.

Check the damaged side for a bent or broken tie rod and any damage that might contact the wheel. Anything that is suspect should be replaced and realigned by a competent alignment shop.

Did you lose all steering or just the power steering?

yeah it was all steering. THe wheels will not even turn at all.

Probably the collapsible steering column is knackered .If a steering column has collapsed, it must be replaced
