I was wondering how the Super Duties are. I am looking to get rid of my Dodge Dakota for something else, and it is either this or gm. So I am wondering how the transmissions hold up for these? I am probably going to 03 04 model.

similar to the picture there. I think that they are good but how long do they last? Over 200k km's easy? or do they start to fall apart there?

All depends on what part of the country you live in. If you live where it snows and salt rusts out vehicles, then you can expect to replace many parts on this truck as it ages. The engine/tranny setup is pretty good and even better if a diesel.

Common issues.................

Exhaust manifold studs rust and snap off (gas engines)
Front 4X4 hubs fail constantly
Front end components need replaced often unless you replace with servicable parts.
Door lock actuators fail or stick
Door ajar switches fail or stick
