Superchip or Programmer

Hey i was just wondering what would be the best programmer for my dad and I. He has an 02 F-250 with a 5.4L and i have an 06 F-150 with a 5.4L. We just recently talked to some guys that recommended reprogramming the engine to give it more horsepower and better fuel economy. also, is a superchip the same thing as a programmer or are they different.
thanks,
chris

Re: Superchip or Programmer

They're all programmers. They save your stock tune and replace it with either a standard or custom tune depending what you buy. It gives you some flexability in selecting different octane fuels and the spark curve. I have an 02 5.4L and have done a lot of tuning on carbed engines. I decided to get the SCT Livewire and was totally impressed. Go to: Home and check it out. I bought mine thru mike and he's awesome. I felt an immediate power increase and got a 20% mpg increase also. The x3 calibrator accomplishes the same as the Livewire as far as tuning but doesn't do data logging.

YW. The Livewire is specific unto my vehicle only. It does have a feaure where if I buy other trucks I can enter their VIN. Being it stores your stock tune from the factory I don't believe you can do two vehicles. Don't quote me on it but if you call Mike at 5 star you can get the skinny on the tuners.
